Our Mission

The Homebirth Collective is here to support you as you prepare for birth. We are a group of experienced birth doulas who believe in the power and safety of homebirth and physiological birth.

We regularly host free community gatherings - not formal classes - where you and your partner can learn, ask questions, hear real stories, and connect with others considering or planning a homebirth.

These gatherings are designed to inspire confidence, provide balanced information, and offer a strong community voice alongside the medical system. Our events rotate across South West London so that every month there is a new opportunity to meet, share, and feel supported.

Together, we are building a welcoming community where families can explore another story of birth — one rooted in trust, connection, and choice.

We believe that homebirth remains significantly underpromoted within the NHS, meaning that its many benefits are not consistently or clearly communicated through antenatal education or hospital-based classes.

Through both personal and professional experience, we have seen the profound positive impact that homebirth can have on birth outcomes, maternal wellbeing, and the early postnatal period. Time and again, it supports a calmer, more physiological birth, fosters confidence, and enables a gentler transition into life with a new baby.

We feel strongly that more can and should be done to ensure families are fully informed about homebirth as a safe and viable option. Women deserve access to balanced, evidence-based information so they can make truly informed choices about where and how they give birth.

By increasing awareness and normalising homebirth, we can empower more women to consider this option and access the benefits it offers for both mother and baby.

All gatherings are free community spaces designed for you to learn more about the homebirth experience and how to secure one to find inspiration in your preparation and to feel deeply supported throughout your journey.

The work of our collective is shared deeply, ensuring that no one person or community carries the entire weight alone. We thrive together.
